Just some frequently asked questions ….. and then some!
How did you start blogging?
I started blogging in the Spring of 2015 as a way to share my thoughts and feelings through writing.
Blogging was more of a hobby at the time but has blossomed to be a way to help teach and educate others, support my design studio, share things from my life and experiences and also as a means to help contribute to the household!
When did you and your Hubby get married?
My sweet husband, Samuel, and I got married last April!
I’m so blessed to have such a sweet, loving husband and I adore our little family of three!
What camera do you use?
I personally use a Nikon d7100, I love my camera!
Growing up my daddy was a photographer and so I was surrounded with amazing pictures and always learning something from him. (My daddy uses a Cannon which I have also used in the past for photographs on here!)
You talk about your design studio, what do you do?
I started my small design company while still in high school, where I took in alterations and small projects.
It’s amazing how much it has grown!
Now, Autumn Renae Designs offers alterations, handmade gifts, hand lettering, custom home decor, sewing + design lessons, professional photography services and custom freelance designs.
You can find the studio website here.
Where are you located?
My husband and I actually built our beautiful home on my family’s land in North Carolina, where I am the 5th generation to live on it.
Our town is very quaint and has that southern charm, plus a good downtown art district which you know makes me happy 😉
I’m living it!
I absolutely love being a wife, living on the farm and working in my design studio and can’t think of anything else I’d rather be doing! 🙂
What are you doing when you’re not in working in your studio?
Most likely outside on working on the farm, cooking, reading or figuring out what else to decorate in our home!
The blog can take a lot of time out of the week as well, and sometimes I’ll also be editing the pictures for a certain post or finishing a blog post up.
When did you start sewing?
I come from a long line of very talented sewists, on both sides of the family!
My first sewing lesson was when I was very young, and also when I got my first sewing machine.
Fast forward a few years and I was taking lessons from very talented women in the field from costume designers, university design teachers, and alteration specialists!
So, sewing/DIY/crafting is pretty much just in your blood!
Yes! I feed off of creativity and love the process of it all.
